Eliran is the founder and Head Instructor of Traditional Krav Maga (TKM), Great Neck branch. Some may not realize that Eliran holds a BA degree from Tel Aviv Academic Center and a Master degree in Computer Science.

During regular working hours, he is VP of Projects and Operations of an international digital logistics firm. However, his passion has always been Krav Maga.  Eliran began his Krav Maga training as a student of Eli Avikzar, the first Krav Maga Black belt at Krav Magen Israeli in 1988. Within a year, Eliran was accompanying and conducting seminars along with Eli at his various Krav Maga school locations. These seminars included the training of IDF personnel and the Israeli police force, as well as other Israeli defense/security organizations. Eliran has been a certified Krav Maga instructor since 1992, and has since accumulated years of teaching experience, both military and civilian.

Eliran served in the IDF as a Krav Maga instructor for various units in the Israeli Navy. One of his responsibilities was to train female soldiers to, in turn, teach Krav Maga in the Israeli high school system.  Additionally, Eliran has opened and operated several Krav Maga schools while in Israel with hundreds of students.  By December of 1997, Eliran had earned his Dan2 Black Belt. In May 2017 Eliran was awarded his Dan 3 Black Belt

TKM NEW YORK, GREAT NECK BRANCH

The activity in the Great Neck branch of TKM New York is divided by age groups and is appropriate for children aged five and older, through adulthood. In keeping with the goal of teaching self-defense skills while elevating the fitness level, the activities are tailored to each age group with appropriate discipline and instruction. At the facility, we strongly believe anyone can do it and we strongly urge everyone to do it, since physical fitness and knowing to defend oneself are invaluable. One sometimes overlooked added benefit for children and teenagers is the confidence boost often required to tackle difficult situations and, if confronted with growing epidemic of bullying, having the tools necessary to extinguish such behavior at the outset. For adults it is a great workout while acquiring very practical tools for unexpected situations which call for self-defense and violence suppression. For students of all ages, it is building comradery with other likeminded concerned members of the community. When people come to try out Krav Maga, what often times makes them stay is the people they train with, both at the student and instructor levels.

It should not be forgotten that the Great Neck branch is part of a larger global community of TKM. Every student has a membership in the organization, acquired through attending the classes and seminars of the Great Neck studio. Belt ranks, obtained by attending a certain number of sessions and seminars and passing a mandatory rigorous test, are recognized globally. We strive to achieve the common goal of all TKM students globally of preserving the principles and spirit of Krav Maga passed on by its founders..
